What is a hectare?

A hectare (ha) is a metric unit equal to 10,000 square metres, or a square that measures 100 metres on each side. It is used in government land records, agricultural data, forest land and town planning documents.

What is an acre?

An acre (ac) is an imperial unit equal to 43,560 square feet, or about 4,046.86 square metres. In India it is widely used for farmland, large plots and gated layouts, often together with cents in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

How many acres are in one hectare?

One hectare is equal to 2.47105 acres. Put simply, a hectare is roughly two and a half times the size of an acre.
